Shorts and t-shirts one day and back to overcoats the next, there’s certainly been a big swing in the weather this week. The warmer weather earlier in the week did bring on some good hatches at Witton Castle Lakes tempting the fish to rise across both lakes. We welcomed 52 visiting anglers who, once again, found the going very hard returning a rod average of just 1.9.

We’ve had a mixed bag of weather at Witton Castle Lakes this week with rain, sunshine, cloud and a pick up in the breeze towards the end of the week. Once again the going was hard, we had 52 visiting anglers who returned a rod average of just over 2.
The week may have ended a little damp and cold at Witton Castle Lakes but for the rest of the week anglers enjoyed some glorious conditions. The heat also brought on some prolific hatches creating some top of the water action. The weather brought with it 59 visiting anglers who did find the going quite hard and returned rod average of just 2.7.
After the spell of wintery weather Witton Castle Lakes welcomed more seasonal conditions with warmer temperatures and sunshine. Things took till the latter part of the week to pick up and we had 50 anglers through the gates – who still found the going a little tough, returning a rod average of a shade over 3.
