Despite competing with Stanhope Show, the Great North Run and some very persistent rain The Bishop Auckland Angling Club open day at Witton Castle Lakes enjoyed a good turnout from those interested in taking up the sport of Fly Fishing.
An open day is to be held at Witton Castle Lakes, on Sunday 15th September from 1pm till 4pm, for anyone interested in taking up fly fishing and families are very welcome to come along with children to see what the sport is all about.
This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in taking up the sport but not sure how to get started. There will be free coaching by qualified coaches, tuition and essential advice on the basics of fly fishing, including advice on the tackle required to get started.
The event will be run by Bishop Auckland District Angling Club, who will have a team of experienced anglers available for advice, including demonstrations of fly tying.
