Witton Castle Lakes report w/e August 20th

This week has certainly seen a vast improvement in the fishing at Witton Castle Lakes. Barring a couple of sunny days, the drop in temperatures has seen the fish moving again, anglers also enjoyed some great top of the water action with fish rising towards the latter part of the week.

Witton Castle Lakes report w/e August 13th

It’s been another hard week at Witton Castle Lakes and from what we hear elsewhere too, although the cooler temperatures towards the end of the week saw the fish starting to rise again. The slim pickings kept visiting number low again but the rod average doubled from last week to one.

The warm weather has been putting pay to any top of the water action, and any action for that matter, with anglers everywhere finding the going hard. In a very quiet week Witton Castle Lakes welcomed 22 dedicated anglers who tried their best in these conditions only returning a rod average of one half.

Mixed weather conditions and, in particular, strong winds conspired to keep visiting number low at Witton Castle Lakes this week. 55 visiting anglers braved the blustery conditions and managed to return a very respectable rod average of 3.7.
