Witton Castle Lakes report w/e 26th July
It’s been another week of glorious, sunny weather at Witton Castle Lakes, great for topping up the tan but, as we all know, not good for fishing at all. Consequently visiting numbers have been very low along with the catch rates so there hasn’t been a great deal to report on.
The forecast is for more of the same which will keep the going very hard for those anglers who do fancy their chances in the heat. In the meantime we will hope for some cloud cover and keep the sunscreen close to hand too.
The warmer weather has also hastened the weed growth in the lakes. But fear not, the fishery manager and his team of volunteers have put in double time cutting and dragging the weed from the lakes. After two weeks of hard work the lakes are clear of the offending weed so visiting anglers can continue to enjoy their sport at Witton Castle Lakes – when the conditions allow of course.
