On the river Tees the Club’s Egglestone stretch fished well during October and some good salmon have been caught some in the upper teens. Local angler John Mattinson had an excellent season with 18 salmon 15 of which were returned. Members have reported that the Mickleton stretch has fished exceptionally well for trout and grayling with catches of 10 fish and upwards on visits.
The colder weather has seen a drop in anglers fishing this week but those who have ventured out have had some excellent sport with a 3.2 fish average. Despite the cold weather fish are continuing to feed on hatching buzzers and small emerger and dry patterns have done well.
Whilst temperatures continue to fall the lakes have continued to fish well but anglers have needed to keep on the move to find the fish which are starting to shoal up. A total of 44 anglers caught 135 fish for a 3 fish average.
