The heatwave conditions have continued this week making fishing difficult for anglers. This has affected the catch rate although some of the regulars have had some good catch returns. The week saw 71 anglers catch 148 fish for a 2 fish average.
There has been a very good take up for the next all night fishing event which starts this friday 26th july from 10pm.You do not need to register just turn up on the night. There will be barbecue facilities available so why not get there earlier and meet up with everyone.
If the last event is anything to go by it should be a great night for everyone. With the heatwave conditions the fish will now be feeding from dusk through the night particularly the big brown and rainbow trout.
The heat wave conditions have seen a dramatic drop in anglers visiting the lakes this week with temperatures reaching 28 C, making conditions difficult for fish and anglers. Despite this there were days when moderate winds and cooler conditions in the morning improved rod catches.
The heatwave has made angling very difficult this week with the exception of Wednesday and the early part of each day when cooler conditions saw more feeding trout and better catch returns. A total of 95 brave anglers visited and caught 174 fish for a 1.8 fish average, the lowest this season.
