Conditions for fishing have been favourable at Witton Castle Lakes this week, although anglers did find the going hard. We welcomed 65 anglers through the gates to fish the lakes and they returned a hard fought rod average of just over 3.

It has been a relatively quiet week at Witton Castle Lakes with the much promised summer weather not materialising and a chilly northerly. This, coupled with the proliferation of sea trout in the rivers, has kept visiting numbers lower than usual with just 60 anglers paying the lakes a visit.
We’ve enjoyed a glorious week at Witton Castle Lakes, with anglers taking advantage of the pleasant conditions to fish the lakes. We welcomed a total of 73 visiting anglers who enjoyed a bumper week of fishing, returning a very decent rod average of just under 4.
We had a slow start to the week at Witton Castle Lakes no doubt due to the blustery conditions and cooler temperatures. But the week picked up as the weather improved and we welcomed a total of 70 anglers who came to enjoy their sport and they returned a decent rod average of 3.2.
