It was a quiet week at Witton Castle Lakes, no doubt due the much increased activity on the rivers. We welcomed 50 visiting anglers, and with the lakes fishing better this week, they returned a decent rod average of 3 fish.

With the return of the cooler weather the lakes at Witton Castle Trout Fishery are starting to fish well, there have been plenty of fish rising to small buzzers with fish taking them as they are emerging. Visiting numbers also improved with 72 anglers fishing the lakes over the week and catching a total of 184 fish, giving a decent rod average of 2.5.
Temperatures have fallen dramatically over the past week at Witton Castle Lakes, this has given anglers greater success on the waters with some much improved sporting action. Visiting numbers remained at average for the time of year with many anglers taking to the rivers in search sea trout and salmon.
Much improved conditions over the week at Witton Castle Lakes gave anglers some good sporting action with some decent catches to talk about. In particular was F.Walton who caught four beautiful 4.5lb brown trout and A.Grabham who landed an impressive, hard fighting 5lb rainbow.
